Sahel

The Sahel Programme, developed and implemented by CFG in partnership with the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and local partners, includes a Regional Platform which meets on a regular basis.

This Regional Platform aims to follow-up the operational projects being carried out in Mali, Chad, Nigeria et the Chad Lake region, Niger and Mauritania. The Regional Platform also facilitates a regular gathering of Sahelian actors who have worked in partnership with the CFG for a number of years.

The Sahel Platforms are an opportunity for actors in the field and the organisations facilitating these meetings to update their regional knowledge regarding conflict transformation and, in doing so, to identify potential new lines of tension. The Sahel Platforms are also a privileged opportunity to deepen the reflection on other less familiar and sometimes more long-standing tensions which have now become a reality in some countries in the region.
